Smashed windows, broken glass, every business owners nightmare.
TERRACE HEIGHTS, WA - Smashed windows, broken glass, every business owners nightmare.
"Shock and disgust because we're really close with all the people in the building, and you just don't expect anything like this to happen," said Shawna Hahn, the Owner of Papa Baird's.
"They just have no respect for nobody or anybody's property," said Gene Westphall, a Terrace Heights resident.
Vandals used a big rock to smash several windows of different businesses along the 4100 Block of Terrace Heights. They went inside a realtor's office, but didn't take anything.
People living in the area said this is very concerning for Terrace Heights where criminal activity seems few and far between.
"It's kind of disheartening that somebody would do this especially in a small community such as Terrace Heights," said Dena Westphall.
"It's not only an expense, it's your trust and your faith," said Hahn. "And it's the safety of the building and the area. We've never had this out here. It's not like Terrace Heights to have this go on."
Business owners said they're still hoping that a surveillance camera at "Street Expresso" caught an image of the suspects. And as a result of this incident, many more surveillance cameras will be going up around the plaza.
"We are in the process of getting a really good security camera system that we can monitor from our homes, as well as the business," said Hahn. "We'll have that installed very soon."
The Yakima County Sheriff's Office is handling the investigation. No one has been arrested for the vandalism yet.
