The Yakima police department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the subject and the vehicle depicted in the attached photographs. These photographs were taken from ATM and surveillance video from banks in the area of 3rd St and E. Yakima Ave during the evening hours of 12/7/13. The subject depicted is a person of interest in this case. Notably, the subject is wearing a baseball style hat with a logo on the front. The vehicle depicted is a dark colored, mid-size car. Jerene Matta's bank account was accessed during these ATM transactions, and the transactions occurred several hours after Jerene Matta was discovered deceased in her home.

This investigation is ongoing, and Yakima police detectives are following up on several promising leads. If anyone has information that may be relevant to this investigation they are encouraged to contact the Yakima police department at 575-6200 or call 911.

On 12/7/13 at about 1736 the Yakima Fire Dept. responded to a residence in the 1800 Blk of Greenway St. for a report of a possible fire. They located a residence with smoke coming from it. The gained entry and extinguished the fire and located a deceased female (62 years of age) inside the residence. Yakima police officers and detectives also responded to assist in the investigation.

Yakima police detectives, in conjunction with YFD fire investigators, are conducting the follow-up investigation. Anyone with information related to this case is encouraged to call 575-6200 or 911 (after hours).

    On 4/23/2015 at 19:45 Shopko employees saw Jackie Sue Rolph concealing merchandise in a large bag. She left the story without paying for the items to a vehicle waiting for her in the parking log. She entered the vehicle and left the area. A KPD officer arrived in the area and saw the vehicle. The officer stopped the vehicle and contacted the occupants. A search warrant was served on the vehicle and all the stolen merchandise was recovered and returned to Shopko.
