Man Pleads Guilty to Hitting Woman with Skateboard in Pendleton
PENDLETON, OR - A 23-year-old man pleads guilty to 2nd degree assault for hitting a Pendleton woman with his skateboard.
Justin Doss made the plea in a Umatilla County court on Monday. A judge sentenced Doss to 21 days in jail which he had already served and five years of probation.
Police say in October Nancy Ashworth, 74, was walking near a skate park when a dog who wasn't on a leash came at her aggressively. That's when she used pepper spray on the dog, which upset Doss. He ran across the street and hit her with his skateboard. That's when Ashworth pulled out a gun and fired a shot in the air to scare Doss away.
