YAKIMA, WA - If you pick up the latest edition of People Magazine, you'll see Sharee Samuels on the front cover. Her amazing weight loss happened at the Central Washington University gym. Many people come to the gym to lose weight but Sharee did it better than most.

If you ever needed motivation to get into the gym, this is it. Six years ago, Sharee Samuels was 17 years old and 256 pounds. Her worst habit was eating sleeves of Oreo's. Diet after diet failed until she broke down one day while shopping and committed herself to getting in shape.

"From that moment on I just promised myself that I was done," Samuels said. "I was done with the excuses, done not taking responsibility for my health and I was going to get serious about losing weight and getting healthy."

Sharee became a vegan and started doing aerobics like running, swimming and biking. Over the years she lost a total of 121 pounds, half her body weight!

"I feel like now I'm the person that I was supposed to be."

"One of those things that helps her have a 5-year weight loss goal like this is she will not quit," CWU Health Coordinator Shayne Wittkopp said. "So she really is amazing."

Sharee started a blog entitled "Funeral for my Fat" to share her success. Little did she know who would take notice.

"I was interviewed by Inside Edition, Good Morning America, O-M-G, and E News." Samuels said.

Not to mention being on the cover of People Magazine. Sharee was flown around the country for photo shoots and interviews, something she never expected.

"There are so many amazing success stories. So for my story to be chosen out of the hundreds of people that apply, its really honoring and I love that I can share my story and help inspire people." Samuels said.

So for everybody attempting to lose weight as their 2014 resolution, let Sharee be your inspiration.

Sharee says her story proves that everybody can lose weight if they work hard and really put their mind to it.
