Icy Road Conditions Causing Multiple Accidents

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, WA - Sheriff's Deputies and the Washington State Patrol say icy road conditions are causing road closures and multiple accidents in our area this morning.

Grant County Sheriff's Deputies say Highway 17 between Othello and Moses Lake is closed due to icy road conditions and multiple crashes.

The Washington State Patrol says I-90 near Moses Lake, Highway 262 and other local roads near Warden are also very icy.

Troopers and Sheriff's Deputies are asking drivers to avoid these areas if at all possible and to wait to drive until the weather clears or until crews have a chance to clear the roads.

Yakima County Sheriff's Deputies say they are also seeing multiple accidents due to icy roads in the county.

Deputies have spent the morning responding to numerous accidents including an 11 car pile up on the Yakima Valley Highway near Zillah.

Several cars have also lost control and slid off of Ahtanum Road this morning.

Troopers and Sheriff's Deputies want to remind drivers to take it slow in slippery conditions.
