The Fever Brings Back Bell

Posted: Updated:

The Tri-Cities Fever would like to announce the signing of cornerback, Dustin Bell (5'11" 180 lbs.).

Bell returns to the Tri-Cities Fever, where he spent his rookie season in 2011. During his time with the Fever, Bell helped the Fever to the United Bowl Championship game, by providing stellar back end defense. He totaled 3 interceptions, 4 passes broken up, 2 forced fumbles and 32 tackles for the Fever in 2011.

Coach Adam Shackleford is excited to have a proven winner back on his team to join an already stacked secondary. "Dustin Bell was a key player for us in 2011. He has been in the AFL the last 2 years and has had a terrific career there." Shack continued on how he sees Bell helping the Fever now that he has returned, "He is a dominant cover corner that will help our talented secondary. He also thrives on special teams, which is extremely important."

Over the past two seasons Bell has been in the Arena League playing for the Cleveland Gladiators in 2012 and for the New Orleans Voodoo this past season.

Originally from Dallas, Texas; Bell attended Wilmer-Hutchins High as a three sport athlete in Football, Baseball, and Basketball. He was All-District in all three sports. The Dallas Morning News Area Top 100 list and Named a Sleeper in The Dave Campbell Texas Football book. He was MVP of his football league his senior year in Texas. UTEP is where Bell attended college and earned the moniker of a "shut-down" corner after switching from Quarterback to cornerback from high school.
