YAKIMA, WA - For the past five years the Ag Expo has made its way to Yakima to show off the newest and greatest equipment in the industry.
"We've got a lot of different things that bring farmers here that will show them the products, but at the same time it shows that we want to give back to the farmers as well," said expo director, Kelly Gasseling
With hundreds of pieces of equipment from all over the region, the expo has something for everyone.
"Groups of businesses and organizations bringing in all of our products and services out to display for the customers. We have some new R-series tractors here at the show that people can climb on and take a look at," said expo vendor, Travis Hanger.
"It shows them all the great new products and big equipment that's going around with all the different businesses in town. It's kind of under one roof, instead of them having to spend time going from place to place and there's also a lot of new stuff they don't know that's out," Gasseling said.
One of the new things farmers can see is a new technology that basically drives tractors by themselves.
"Keep tractors on course for planting, keeps rows spread out and makes it easier for you to do different spray applications. Very similar to auto pilot," Hanger said.
Don't worry, they even provide classes for all the new toys.
"It teaches them all the new spray applications that need to happen for whether it's hops, to fruit or whatever it is," Gasseling said.
But it is not just about what's new, it is also about renewing the old.
"It's more about building relationships than it is about getting our people to buy from us because we're here. We want to get to know people and meet them on different terms than just at our store," Hanger said.
