MATTAWA, WA - The Grant County Sheriff's Office says one child is recovering from minor injuries after a car crashed into a school bus.

Deputies say Thursday morning, 39-year-old Luis Ponce Osuna collided head on with a bus from the Wahluke School District, carrying 13 children.

The Sheriff's Office says the bus had been starting to turn right onto Road 24 Southwest from Road O Southwest, when Osuna tried to pass the cars turning in the other direction, and couldn't stop the Nissan Sentra on the icy roadway.

Paramedics treated one child at the scene for dizziness.

Deputies cited Osuna for passing in a no passing zone, driving without insurance, and without a valid driver's license.

The Nissan was totaled in the collision, the bus had minor damages.
