YAKIMA, WA. -- A stolen USPS drop box, reported in December, has been found in Yakima.
Neighbors say the drop box was left on South 35th Avenue sometime Saturday morning. The box was reportedly ripped off the sidewalk on South 38th Avenue by the Goodwill before Christmas.
A neighbor who wished to remain anonymous says the drop box first looked like a piece of furniture.
"After we had that really bad windstorm I thought it was lawn furniture," she said. "I came out and low and behold it was a blue USPS mailbox and very neatly wrapped."
Neighbors say they have called police who told them they have been out to check on it. Authorities advise the public to leave the box alone until it can be removed.
