Pasco Man Dies in Car Accident, Troopers: Driving too Fast for Icy Roads

Washington State Patrol said one person was killed Saturday morning driving on the icy roads. Washington State Patrol said one person was killed Saturday morning driving on the icy roads.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, WA - A Pasco man is dead after he rolled his car down an embankment, while driving in icy conditions Saturday morning.

Troopers say Angel Carreno Astudillo, 29, was driving eastbound on Kahlotus Road, about 9 miles east of Pasco when he lost control of his car and went off the road. 

Troopers say his 2003 Chevrolet pickup and landed right side up. He died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Otoniel Melchor Taffola, 32, was the passenger in the car. He was injured but not transported to a hospital. He was wearing a seatbelt. 

Troopers say the driver was going too fast for road conditions.
