YAKIMA, WA. -- The flu may be going around nationally but here in Yakima, people are catching Seahawks fever.
Businesses in Yakima tell NBC Right Now they have been absolutely packed the last few weeks. Jackson's on Tieton Avenue has seen thousands of added revenue during the playoffs. More than doubling their average sales during that time.
Sportscenter in downtown Yakima recently added six more beer taps to accommodate the extra customers. Needless to say both are happy the Seahawks are playing all the way into late January.
"Its huge," Travis Heitman, owner of Sportcenter said. "I mean with the Seahawks involved and as good as they have been, people are coming out every Sunday to watch this team try and make the Superbowl."
"We always pull out extra tables," Buck Girard of Jackson's said. "We're actually going to start that process now, try and get as many people in here as we can because literally if there is a seat available we'll fill it for these games. It's been great."
Jackson's can only legally seat about 500 people. They expected that many customers to come through the door Sunday.
