Flight Delays & Cancellations Due to Winter Storm Janus
PHILADELPHIA, PA - More than 2,500 flights have been canceled and thousands more are delayed as winter storm Janus bears down on the Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast.
The National Weather Service says the storm could bring 8 to 12 inches of snow today to Philadelphia and New York City, and bitterly cold air with wind chills as low as 10 degrees below zero.
Janus will be short-lived, moving off the coast sometime Wednesday.
This is the second time this month that an East Coast snow storm has snarled air travel and interrupted thousands of flights. Estimates show the first wave of cancellations earlier this month cost airlines and customers some $1.4 billion.
