RICHLAND, WA - It is almost four months to the day since ground was broken at the WSU Tri-Cities campus for the Wine Science Center and it has come a long way!

The Project Manager said they are still in the foundation stages. On Friday, they were pouring concrete for the last part of the fermentation floor.

"Fermentation floor is where when the grapes come into the facility, they will be processed, then stored in tanks and go through the fermentation process. So where we're standing right now will be a large slab on gray with a bunch of standing still tanks in it," said Project Manager Nick Lambdin.

The construction is just about 15% done. Next week, crews will go underground and tradesmen like electricians and plumbers will be on site. The building should be completed by late summer.
