NBCRightNow.com - With the big game less than a week away, NBC Right Now is looking back at the history of the Seattle Seahawks with the help of a former team photographer who now lives in Richland.
The Seahawks hired Scott Butner fresh out of Mariner High School in Everett during their inaugural season in 1976.
The photos in the slideshow are from a home game against the San Diego Chargers on November 27th, 1977. The Seahawks lost the game 30-28 and finished the season 5-9...a far cry from this year's Super Bowl bound team!
"It was more about taking good pictures than getting a great sports shot," says Butner. "That's what would distract me more than anything else, is knowing that you had a great shot and having to wait until you got home and processed the pictures before you got to see if it worked out!"
If you have any vintage photos of the Seahawks you'd like to share, email them as an attachment to News@KNDU.com with the subject line "Vintage Seahawks." Be sure to include your name, when the photo was taken and a short description of what the photo shows!
