    HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (AP) - At first, it was an orange traffic cone with a weed growing out of it. Now, the roadside attraction dubbed "Cone Weed" is something of a Christmas miracle to locals. WBTV reports someone decorated the "Cone Weed" with tinsel and ornaments last week. The weed has been growing unencumbered across from the Huntersville Fire Station for a year and has amassed a cult following.

    WASHINGTON (AP) - President Donald Trump says the Democrats could exert greater sway over the shape of tax overhaul legislation if they weren't focused wholly on defeating it. In a pre-dawn tweet Friday, Trump says: "If Democrats were not such obstructionists and understood the power of lower taxes, we would be able to get many of their ideas into Bill." In another post to his Twitter account, the president lauded "Great numbers on Stocks and the Economy."

    HOUSTON - The driver of a pickup displaying a profane message to President Donald Trump and his supporters has posted bond after being arrested near Houston on an outstanding warrant. Forty-six-year-old Karen Fonseca left the Fort Bend County jail late Thursday after being arrested earlier in the day on a fraud charge.
