HERMISTON, OR - A Marine from Hermiston, injured in an explosion while on deployment in Afghanistan, is now in the United States for treatment.

On the GoFundMe page for Senior Lance Corporal Casey Allison, his mother Kelly Hirz says her son lost his right leg underneath his knee, along with his pinky and ring finger on his left hand in the explosion last week.

Hirz goes on to say her son wants to thank everyone for their love, prayers and support. She says she's headed to see him now that he is stateside, and can't wait for her son to see his wife and hold his 2-month-old daughter Ava.

On Facebook, Lance Corporal Allison says he graduated from Hermiston High School in 2010.
