Post Falls Family Attacked By Man At Busy Intersection In Coeur d'Alene

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -

Monday evening, Michael Behne and Nikole Sherman picked up Nikole's daughter Alexis from gymnastics, as they do every week. But as they pulled past a gas station, a car pulling out almost collided with them. But it's what the driver of that car did next that left this family in shock.

"We pulled up to the stoplight and a man pulled up along side us and was screaming. His wife from back seat was holding and trying to restrain. Then he assaulted my husband several times," Nikole told KHQ's Gabe Cohen on Wednesday.

"I slammed on the gas and went into turning lane and he held on for a couple sections," Nikole recalled.

Luckily, everyone was alright, but Michael fears for what could have happened to Nikole or Alexis.

"If it's just me it's fine, but i have two girls in the car with me. If it hadn't been me, it might've been one of them. Scares me to think that," Michael said.

While the she wasn't physically hurt, the incident certainly left young Alexis a little shaken.

Michael and Nikole say the guy who attacked them was in his mid-20's, about six feet tall, and very muscular. He was driving a white Lexus SUV with Idaho dealership plates.

    SEATTLE (AP) - Two hikers who found themselves stranded on the Pacific Crest Trail due to whiteout conditions were rescued thanks to their emergency beacon. KOMO-TV reports that Dylan Zitawi and his hiking partner were rescued on Monday. They were 156 miles (250 kilometers) away from finishing the more than 2,600-mile (4,180-kilometer) trail when snow and rain hit them.
