Former Walla Walla County Judge Pleads Guilty to Child Pornography
WALLA WALLA, WA - A former judge in Walla Walla County is pleading guilty to possessing child pornography.
A computer repair shop says an employee found sexual images of children on a computer that 70-year-old John Junke took in to have fixed.
Junke served as a Walla Walla County District Court Judge for three years in the early 90s. He resigned from the state bar in 2006 rather than face disbarment for an unethical relationship with woman client.
A judge visiting Walla Walla County Superior Court will sentence him later this month. The standard sentence is about seven years in prison.
Junke says he intends to seek treatment. The prosecutor is recommending a sex-offender alternative with less than a year in jail and three years of treatment.
