Yakima Police Looking for Robbery Suspect

Yakima Police are looking for a man wanted for robbing a Bank of the West on Yakima Avenue Friday evening. Yakima Police are looking for a man wanted for robbing a Bank of the West on Yakima Avenue Friday evening.

YAKIMA, WA - Yakima Police are looking for a man wanted for robbing a Bank of the West on Yakima Avenue Friday evening.

Around 5:45PM Friday, officers responded to the bank for a robbery. The suspect fled the scene on a BMX bike according to witnesses. Several officers checked the area, but were not able to locate the suspect.

Officers say around 5:40PM, the man entered the bank and handed a note to a teller demanding money and implying he had a weapon. The bank teller complied with the demands made by the suspect and gave him an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect left the bank on a bicycle.

The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic male approximately 5'07" and 220 pounds. The suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and gray stocking cap.

The case was referred to the Yakima Police Department's Detective Division.
