YAKIMA, WA. -- Cookies for a cause were on sale Saturday at the Great American Bake Sale in Yakima.
The fourth annual event included everything from rice krispees to a giant donut cake. All the proceeds went to fight childhood hunger in the United States. Ten members of the Good Samaritan Health Care Center helped bake the treats and organizers say it helps them find meaning.
"We can't really get out and do much that often," Heather Rice of the Good Samaritan Health Care Center said. "Especially in weather like this. But when we can bring the community in and help others, it makes them feel good."
Organizers tell us the bake sale grows bigger each year. And the goal this time, is to raise a thousand dollars.
