YAKIMA, WA - Fourteen inches of snow in Yakima can't stop the employees of Campbell and Company from taking care of business.

Burt Ross, the Yakima Branch Manager of Campbell and Company, said there's been a definite increase in service calls. Employees said when furnaces, heat pumps and other heating equipment are working twice as hard, it heightens the chance of equipment needing repairs.

Ross said they have seven guys working around the clock.

"We typically have about four calls per guy, so they're all booked up as of now," said Ross.

Ross said the company tries to get their maintenance calls done before bad weather hits so they can focus their efforts on penciling in the emergency calls.

There's also some routine maintenance you can do yourself to try to prevent future problems, like checking the filter regularly. It's also best to schedule routine maintenance when it's not the busy season.
