PHOTOS: Tree Crashes Through Fence At Cat Tales

Posted: Updated:
MEAD, Wash. -
We've seen some flooding and wind in the last few days in the Spokane area. In fact, the wind up north caused a real problem  for some, including some tigers!

A large tree branch snapped off  a Cat Tales in Mead on Thursday and landed in a Bengal tiger enclosure.

The 35 foot section of pine tree fell, snapped a guide wire and crashed through two fences that hold the big cats. Luckily, the tigers weren't hit. But a big concern with that fence down was the possibility of the 750 pound tigers escaping!
The good news, with a secondary fence in place, there was no way that could have happened.

Cat Tales tells us the staff will be able to repair all of the damage to the 16 foot enclosure by the end of the week. Until then the tigers, Thor, Xena and Atlas will be kept in their dens.
