Sportsman Show Takes Over SunDome in Yakima

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, WA-- The Sportsman Show is well underway at the Yakima SunDome this weekend and this year they are seeing their best numbers yet.

This is the 25th year for the sportsman show.

Organizers put this on every year for all the hunters and fishermen and women in our region to see what are the latest and greats techniques and products for their sport.

Organizers said they always plan this in February because this is prime time for people interested in what they have to offer.

"If you held it in November, everybody would be out, hunting and they wouldn't want to be here.  This is kind of off time, it's right before the spring fishing season starts, it's right before turkey hunting season starts, it's after all the hunting seasons so it's really prime time when people are thinking about it," said show spokesperson, Rob Phillips.

Sunday is the last day for the show.  Tickets are on sale at the door.  They are $9.00 for adults and $4.50 for kids age six to 12.

This year's big attraction is a wildcat show that features big cats you would see on safari, not here in Washington.
