WISHRAM, WA - Two men from the Tri-Cities area are dead after a car accident near Wishram, Washington in the Columbia River Gorge. Washington State Patrol reports 51-year-old Khamphouk Phongsa, of Richland, was driving a Subaru Impreza when it left the roadway on SR14 around 12:30 Saturday afternoon. The vehicle went about 100 feet down a steep, rocky embankment and rolled before coming to rest on a fence.
Phongsa and his passenger, 53-year-old Adali Mendoza, of Burbank, both died at the scene.
Washington State Patrol troopers are still working to figure out what caused the crash.
