PASCO, WA - Science fiction conventions have been around for decades. With big names like Comic Con gaining traction, the smaller conventions are also seeing more fans flocking to their geeky outings.

Over 2,200 people came to RadCon in Pasco this weekend according to organizers. They say two thirds of their guests are coming from out of town. That is big tourism money for hotels, restaurants and other local businesses.

"Whoever you have as your guest can definitely influence how far people are willing to travel and who those people are," said Dave Acton the Convention Chair. "We get together, we have fun, play games and be a happy family."

It is a family that has kept people coming back for over two decades. This was the 23rd year the convention has been hosted in the Tri-Cities.
