SNOQUALMIE PASS, WA - The Washington state Department of Transportation says I-90 over Snoqualmie Pass from North Bend to Ellensburg is now open.

The DOT closed the pass early Monday morning due to heavy snow and multiple spin outs. Crews had to clear several cars and do avalanche control work before they could reopen the roadway.

The DOT also closed US Highway 2 over Stevens Pass briefly on Monday for avalanche work, but has since reopened the pass.

Chains are required for all vehicles except those with all wheel drive over Stevens Pass.
