Loss to BYU Drops Zags in AP Poll

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga University women's basketball team dropped to No. 24 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll that was released Monday.

The Bulldogs fell four spots in the poll after splitting their last West Coast Conference roadtrip of the season. The Zag began the week defeating the University of San Diego 66-48 before having their 13-game winning streak snapped with a 62-52 setback at BYU.

Gonzaga, who is 23-4 on the year and 13-2 in league play, garnered 87 votes Monday to stand in its 24th spot.

The University of Connecticut still holds the top spot with all 36 first-place votes and 900 total. The University of Notre Dame and the University of Louisville round out the top three with 864 and 803 votes, respectively.

The Bulldogs have one game this week; hosting the University of Portland Saturday, February 22 at 2 p.m.
