KENNEWICK, WA - A local business owner is taking matters into his own hands after a prowler broke into his company's trucks back in October and his efforts are paying off.

The owner of Stratton Surveying and Mapping in Kennewick installed a camera that looks out to the parking lot after someone took a hammer to several company truck windows and stole some small items from inside. That is how he caught the guy on video!

The first time this happened was back in October and just last week, a prowler came back twice, but this time the owner was more prepared.

He woke up in the middle of the night and saw the images being captured by the camera on his phone. He said he immediately called police and headed there, now he is glad he got the camera installed. The prowler also

"I would highly recommend it. I think it's the best way to catch someone, otherwise you're completely clueless. The first break in we had, we had no idea where the person came from, anything about him, where this time we've at least got a pretty good identification of the person, said Aaron Dyck, Stratton Surveying and Mapping Owner.

The prowler was gone by the time police responded.

Dyck posted the video to YouTube and has been sharing it on social media. He hopes someone will see the video and help find the person responsible for the prowls. You can contact Kennewick Police if you know any information.
