Avalanche Control Work Planned Today on I-90 over Snoqualmie Pass

SNOQUALMIE PASS, WA - Crews with the Washington State Department of Transportation are getting ready to close down the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 over Snoqualmie Pass for avalanche control work.

The work is scheduled to begin at 8:00 am.

Westbound traffic will be stopped at milepost 52 near the summit.

Then around 11:00am crews will shut down the pass in both directions at milepost 58 for more avalanche control work.

The DOT says avalanche control can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours to complete.
