P.E. teacher Lori Woods receives classroom makeover
KENNEWICK, WA - NBC Right Now is teaming up with Kadlec Regional Medical Center for another classroom makeover.
Students at Southgate Elementary School in Kennewick packed the gym to help us surprise their P.E. teacher, Lori Woods, with a $250 check Tuesday morning.
A custodian at the school, Yvonne Perozzo, nominated Miss Woods for going above and beyond the normal activities of a P.E. Teacher.
Perozzo says she always sees Wood at school, even during the summer, always working to improve her classes and lessons.
Miss Woods says the classroom makeover will help all of her students enjoy P.E. even more.
"I just want them to come in to my classroom and remember how fun P.E. was and that they love it and that they're here to enjoy it, and if I can get one kid to come to school excited about class then that's what I want."
Miss woods has been a teacher for more than 20 years. She has worked at Southgate for the last ten. She says one of the first things she plans to buy for her students is extra equipment for their current unit on the Olympics.
