Community Members Support Cancer Patient at Pancake Breakfast

KENNEWICK, WA-- Over 150 people enjoyed a pancake breakfast Saturday morning in support of a woman battling leukemia.

For $10 a ticket, community members picked up some pancakes at Applebee's in Kennewick to benefit Brandy Flajole.

Flajole couldn't make it to the breakfast because she is in the hospital getting over an illness brought on by her weak immune system.

"Lets us know we're not going through this alone. Sometimes you feel like you're trying to do everything alone. This let's us know that we've got a lot of people behind us," said Nathan Flajole, Brandy's husband.

Flajole is two years into her fight against cancer and recently received a bone marrow transplant.

Sixty percent of the funds collected Saturday will go towards helping the Flajole family pay for medical costs.
