RICHLAND, WA - Sharehouse Coffee in Richland was all a twitter Saturday. A local twitter user hosted what is called a ‘tweetup'.

A ‘tweetup" is when people who actively use twitter or even those who have never even heard of the social networking site meet up and get to know each other. People tweeted they were going using the hashtag #tweetup3c. These types of gatherings are a new age way for friends, professionals and complete strangers to network and discuss whatever subject they would like, including using twitter as a helpful resource.

"It's really hard to understand what somebody's saying just through texts. If you get to meet that person and talk to them, the nuances that you might not otherwise get, you start to get."

Tweetups can be held at anytime and at any place. They start when a twitter user sends out the message with a place and time. The rest is up to the visitors to decide what the conversations will be and how they will ultimately connect.
