CALDWELL, Idaho – Chase Miller went 3-4 and drove in three runs to lead College of Idaho to a 7-0 win over visiting Whitworth in the finale of a four-game non-conference baseball series on Sunday Wolfe Field.

The Coyotes improved to 7-5 and the Pirates dropped to 3-5.

Whitworth could not score against the C of I pitching duo of Mitch Viydo and Zach Fabricius.  Viydo tossed six innings and scattered four singles to improve to 1-0.  Fabricius threw the final three innings and allowed only one hit to pick up his first save.

Michael Renner started for the Pirates and allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and three innings.  He fell to 1-1.  Blake Thoren threw 2.1 innings of relief and allowed three runs on three hits.  Taylor Isadore continued to be effective out of the bullpen for Whitworth, allowing no runs on one hit in 1.2 innings.  Jason Renner finished up the ninth, giving up the final two runs.

The Coyotes steadily pulled away with single runs in the first, third and fifth innings.  They broke the game open with two more runs in the bottom of the sixth.  Miller's two-run single in the eighth capped the scoring for C of I.

Whitworth will return to action next weekend with a three-game series at Whittier and a single game at Cal Lutheran.
