MESA, WA – NBC Right Now has learned of a cock fighting training facility that has been shut down by Franklin County Sheriff's deputies over the weekend.

Deputies were dispatched Saturday just after noon to 4710 Langford Road in Mesa on reports of a rooster fight. When they got there about 20-30 men ran and drove from the scene. Five men have been arrested and booked into County Corrections for animal fighting. Once a search warrant was executed about 100 roosters were found that deputies say were being trained for fighting. Deputies say evidence showed that the residence had been used as a training facility for cock fighting and that "nobody was injured in these incidents".

The Sheriff's office was assisted by Pasco Police, Kennewick K9 division, Washington State Gambling Commission and Fish & Wildlife.

-         Francisco Villanueva Gomez, 20
