Franklin County Sheriff Offers Public Tours of New Jail

Posted: Updated:

FRANKLIN COUNTY, WA - The Franklin County Sheriff is inviting you to tour the new Franklin County Jail this week.

Sheriff Richard Lathim says his office will be giving tours of the new jail on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 25th and 26th between 6pm and 8pm.

With the county expanding, there's also more bad guys. Even Lathim thinks it's about time and the new jail will house hundreds of inmates.

Lathim says this is the only chance for the public to see the inside of the new jail. The tours don't have any age restrictions, and no prisoners will be inside the jail at the time.

Sheriff Lathim says he's encouraging people to tour the facility because people in Franklin County voted for a new tax to build this jail, giving law enforcement and the courts the necessary capacity to keep the community safe.
