KENNEWICK, WA - The family of a man stabbed and killed on Christmas Eve said they want justice for Gerardo Villamar, Jr.

The Benton County Prosecutor said they are still deciding whether to press charges against 17-year-old Angel Gonzales for his involvement in the murder.

Gonzales was released from jail and moved into the Juvenile Detention Center on unrelated charges. The teen turned himself in last Wednesday after officers searched a Kennewick home.

Gonzalez claims the stabbing was in self defense, but he is still under investigation for possible second degree murder charges.

A friend of the victim's family said they just want to see justice served.

"[The father] feels devastation that there's no justice that they didn't do anything for him...and at the end of the day he lost his son," said Juan Ochoa.

The prosecutor said he still waiting on police records and wants to take his time to make sure the correct charges are filed.

Meanwhile, the family friend said the family is just trying to get through this tough time as the case continues.
