Oregon State Police say a young man in a near head on crash last week has died from his injuries.
UMATILLA COUNTY, OR - Oregon State Police say a young man in a near head on crash last week has died from his injuries.
Police say 19-year-old Montana Rex Batterton from Weston was injured in the collision on Highway 204 about two miles east of Highway 11 Thursday night.
Paramedics took Batterton to Providence St. Mary's Medical Center in Walla Walla, and later flew him to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He died on Tuesday.
Troopers say the other driver, 66-year-old Harrell R. Phillips of Athena, and a man who was sleeping in the passenger seat of his pickup, were both seriously injured. Firefighters extricated them from the truck so paramedics could take them to Providence St. Mary Medical Center.
Police say their initial investigation shows the crash happened in the left eastbound lane. Troopers say Batterton had been eastbound, Phillips was driving west.
