KHQ.COM - Protecting your children is a top priority for most parents and that includes protecting them from dangerous people who've harmed children in the past. There’s an on-line tool that helps parents determine who is living near them and if they’re a threat to their kids.

The website is linked to the Spokane County Sheriff’s website and is called Offender Watch. It allows the user to enter an address and see whether there are any registered sex offenders living in the area. The website also posts offenders’ names, their descriptions and their convictions.

Knowing who is living near you and living in the areas where our children play is one of the first steps one can take in protecting their kids. To see if there are any sex offenders living near you, you can check out Offender Watch here: http://www.icrimewatch.net/index.php?AgencyID=54488
