Standing at 6'7'', this week's all-star is a giant on the court and in the classroom.  Richland's Nathan Streufert is wrapping up his senior year with a 3.91 GPA. But as the son of coach Earl Streufert, [he] has always known what's expected of him.

"If you don't do your job in the classroom in our program, you don't play. It's pretty simple. If we got to pull the desk out at practice so you can do your homework, we'll do that," said Richland Head Boys Basketball Coach Earl Streufert.

"Ever since I started school, we made sure school's the first priority before basketball. He takes it really seriously. It's academics before basketball. Always," Said Richland Senior Nathan Streufert.

And colleges are lining up. It's not every day that one of the best forwards in the state wants to go into the medical field.

"Talking to the University of Portland, University of Idaho, University of Denver, and central Washington University, Colorado School of Mines, College of Idaho, and whit worth," said Nathan Streufert.

According to the coach, academics will play a major role in where Nate suits up in college next year.

"He'll find the right fit, and find the right staff for him, place that's going to push him and make him better both in the classroom and on the court," said Earl Streufert.
