Hanford Tour Registration Opens in Early March

RICHLAND, WA - Online registration for public tours of the Hanford Site opens in early March.

The U.S. Department of Energy tour focuses on the environmental cleanup while the B Reactor tours focus on Hanford's role in the top secret Manhattan Project during World War II.

There is no cost to participate and the tours last approximately four and a half hours.

Registration for the Hanford Site Cleanup Tours opens on March 3 at 6:00 p.m. and are on a first-come, first-served basis.  

The tours are scheduled for April 8-10; May 6-8, 20-22; June 3-5, 17 and 18; July 29-31; and August 12-14 and 26-28.  The tours begin at both 8:00 and 10:00 a.m.

Registration for the Manhattan Project B Reactor Tours opens on March 4 at 12:01 p.m.  This tour is also on a first-come, first-served basis.  You can either register online, by calling (509) 376-1647 or by visiting the B Reactor Tour Headquarters.  

The tours are scheduled for April 1-3, 5, 15, 17, 19 and 29-30; May 1, 3, 13-15, 17, 28 and 31; June 10-12, 14, 24-26; July 8, 10, 12, 21-24 and 26; August 2, 4-7, 9, 16, 18-20 and 23; and September 2-4, 13 and 16-18.  The tours begin at either 8:15 or 11:15 a.m.
