KENNEWICK, WA - Several students at Desert Hills Middle School have accomplished more than make the grade.

The 44-eighth graders treated to breakfast Friday morning have been able to maintain a 3.75 grade point average or better since the sixth grade.

That's straight A's.

Principal Steve Jones says sure, they're bright students, but Jones says it's more than that.

"These are kids who work really hard," Jones says. "They have natural ability, but it all has to do with work habits, study habits, dedication to school, dedication to learning, and they work hard and do a good job in class."

After posing for a quick picture for the yearbook, several members of the honor class rushed out to Kamiakin high school, where they are already taking classes, including advanced algebra and trigonometry.

The Parent Teachers Organization hosted the breakfast with support from Staples, Great Harvest Bakery, Francisco's Bakery, and Albertson's on Gage.
