BENTON CITY, WA - An 18-year-old woman was taken to the hospital after she rolled her car while driving eastbound along I-82 near Benton City.

Benton County Sheriff's Deputies say Heidi Vasquez had a medical emergency around 9:00 a.m. Tuesday. It caused her to drift off the road and flip into the median.

Paramedics took her to the hospital with back and neck pain.

"One good piece of advise, she was wearing her seatbelt. I think in this situation it really possibly saved her life and definitely saved her from more serious injuries," said Trooper Chris Thorson with the Washington State Patrol.

Vasquez was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland to be checked out. She was later released from the hospital.
