NBC RIGHT NOW-- It seems like when one mountain pass opens, another one closes in Washington State.

Drivers heading over White Pass may need to re-route this morning because of a rockslide, which closed a section of Highway 12.

The Department of Transportation said Highway 12 just west of the White Pass summit is closed in both directions, and they do not know when it will open back up again.

Crews with the DOT are trying to clean up a rockslide that closed US 12 between mileposts 135 and 151.

They do not know how long it will take to do the clean up and reopen the roads, but they said they are waiting until later this morning to do a complete evaluation of the rock slide and give a better estimation of when it will open back up.

They are hoping this will be open later this morning.
