KENNEWICK, WA - A Benton County judge says two Yakima County sheriff's detectives tricked a homicide suspect into talking with them after he asked for a lawyer.

As a result, anything 24-year-old Robert McCorkindale said about the death of 22-year-old Preston Yahne after invoking his right to a lawyer can't be used at his murder trial.

McCorkingdale was turned over to Benton County after investigators determined the death happened near Prosser.

McCorkindale, who is from Prosser, is scheduled for trial in May.

He's accused of stabbing and running over Yahne, and then burning his body in the trunk of a car, where Yahne's skull and bones were found.
