Heavy Police Activity Near Steptoe & Gage Blvd. in Richland

UPDATE/RICHLAND, WA - An 18-year-old teenager is in custody after leading Richland and Kennewick police officers on a short pursuit.

Richland police say an officer tried to pull Jonathan Summers over for speeding near Columbia Park Trail. He wouldn't stop so officers pursued him down Steptoe Street. Summers hit a curb and popped two tires. That's when officers arrested him.

Police say Summers didn't have a valid driver's license. He is facing charges for felony eluding and for driving without a license.

Around noon on Thursday scanner traffic reported police stopped a person who was speeding by using a pit maneuver.
