PASCO, WA - More than 500 people came to the TRAC in Pasco Thursday morning to recognize people in our community who have done heroic acts.

As part of the Real Heroes event, people nominate other people in the community for Real Hero Awards, and the Red Cross then selects the recipients.

The annual Real Heroes breakfast is one of the biggest fundraisers for the Benton Franklin Chapter of the American Red Cross.

This year, the event brought in $40,000.

Executive Director Peggy Hoggarth says without those donations every year, the Red Cross wouldn't be able to continue its disaster relief efforts in our community.
