UPDATE/UMATILLA, OR - Oregon State Police have released the name of the man killed along I-82 Friday morning near Hermiston.

Officers say Alicia Breckheimer, 33, was driving the wrong way in the eastbound lanes and crashed into another car. The driver of that car, 66-year-old Robert Henry Baker from Ione, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers believe alcohol may have been involved.

UMATILLA, OR - Oregon State Police say a 66 year old man from Oregon was killed in a crash on Interstate 82 early Friday morning.

Police say the crash happened around 1:30am when a wrong way driver in the eastbound lanes crashed nearly head-on with his car.

The man died at the scene.

Paramedics took the driver of the other car to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston, then was later flown by LifeFlight to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland.

OSP says alcohol may have been a contributing factor and both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

No names have been released pending notification of next of kin.

Police say the crash happened around 3:00am Friday on I-82 at milepost 4, about 3 miles west of Umatilla.

Police say there were 2 vehicles involved and crews with the Oregon Department of Transportation are helping direct traffic around the scene.
