Pasco Crime Report Shows 11% Drop in 2013

PASCO, WA - The 2013 crime report by the City of Pasco and Pasco Police show crime rates in the city continue to drop.

The report shows crime rates in Pasco dropped 11% over the last year and has dropped 83% since 1989.

Pasco Police Chief Bob Metzger says the community should be very proud of these numbers, "The community's effort, especially the commitment shown in approving the public safety sales tax increase in 2011, is really paying off with these lower crime numbers."

Pasco City Manager Gary Crutchfield says the drop is due to long-standing community support of anti-crime programs and the Pasco Police Department, "Pasco is now, and has been for some years, one of the safest communities in the entire state, not just the Tri-Cities."

The report also shows the crime rate in Pasco is below the state and national average.
