One Man Dead After Trucks Crash Overnight In Selah

Selah, WA - A Yakima resident injured in car accident just after 10 p.m. on Friday has now died at Harborview Medical Center.

Troopers say 18 year-old Clayton Kester, in his 1997 Chevy pickup, was hit by a ford F150 pickup heading northbound along North Wenas Road in Selah.

The Ford 150 truck was trying to pass him in the oncoming traffic lane just as Kester attempted to turn left at onto Lancaster Road. Kester was struck by the driver behind him, 28 year-old Steven Gibbs.

Troopers are not sure if drugs or alcohol were involved. Gibbs was not wearing a seatbelt and he was transported to Yakima Memorial Hospital before being taken to Harborview, This incident is under investigation and charges are pending.
