Galdeira Named To Pac-12 All-Tournament Team

SEATTLE – Washington State sophomore guard Lia Galdeira was voted to the Pac-12 All-Tournament Team after helping the Cougars advance to the tournament semifinal round for the second time in the last three seasons.

Galdeira averaged 25.0 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 2.3 spg and set the Pac-12 Tournament record with 75 total points, breaking Stanford's Nnemkadi Qgwumike's previous record of 71 in 2012. Galdeira also knocked down seven 3-pointers and went 18-of-25 at the free throw line.

Galdeira matched teammate Tia Presley with a game-high 31 points, and grabbed seven rebounds, dished out five assists and sank three 3-pointers in the 107-100 opening round over Oregon. WSU's 107 points set a tournament record for points scored. The Kamuela, Hawaii native followed with a game-high 28 points, seven rebounds, three 3-pointers and 13-of-16 at the free throw line in the 91-83 upset of No. 20 ranked and No. 2 seed University of California in the quarterfinals. Galdeira capped her tournament with 16 points, five rebounds and two steals in the 70-60 semifinal loss to Oregon State.

Galdeira is the second Cougar to earn Pac-12 All-Tournament honors, Jazmine Perkins in 2012.
